Jalen Hurts has won the hearts of Philadelphia Eagles fans with his impressive work on the football field — but he found his true love in Alabama.
The Eagles quarterback turned heads while playing for the University of Alabama from 2016 to 2018. However, off the field, he only had eyes for Bryonna “Bry” Burrows.
The pair began dating in college before Hurts transferred to University of Oklahoma in 2019. Hurts kept his romance off social media before and after he was drafted by the Eagles in 2020. However, when his team won the NFC Championship in January 2023, Burrows joined him on the field to celebrate.
The couple, who got engaged in September 2024, have continued to keep their romance as private as possible, as evidenced by Hurts’ sly acknowledgment that the couple had recently gotten married in an April 2025 profile in Men’s Health.

College
The twosome met at the University of Alabama sometime between 2016 and 2018, while Hurts was in school and playing football. After three seasons, Hurts transferred to Oklahoma to finish out his college football career.
Burrows, meanwhile, finished her undergraduate education at Alabama in 2017 with a degree in Spanish and political science. She remained at the university for several years and eventually earned her MBA from the school of business.
While they were both at Alabama, Hurts and Burrows were involved in Greek life. He was part of the Omega Psi Phi fraternity while Burrows was in the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority.

January 2023
After dating on and off for years, Burrows was photographed rooting for Hurts during the Eagles’ NFC Championship matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. When the Eagles won, Burrows joined Hurts on the field to celebrate.
April 2023
Hurts made a rare comment about his relationship with Burrows during an interview with ESSENCE for their cover story. “I’m not married or anything like that,” he revealed. “But I am spoken for.”
He noted he “knew a long time ago” that Burrows was The One. “I mean, to this point in my life, that’s an irreplaceable feeling,” Hurts added. “I think that’s what allowed us to get where we are now.”

Six months later, the couple made their carpet debut at Time100 Next Gala in New York City.
September 2024
Burrows sparked engagement speculation on September 6 when she was spotted wearing a diamond ring on her left hand before an Eagles game. ESSENCE broke the news on September 13 that Hurts had proposed to his longtime girlfriend on a beach surrounded by candles and red roses.
Later that month, the newly-engaged couple stepped out on the red carpet for Prime Video’s The Evolution of the Black Quarterback premiere in New York City. Hurts is one of many Black athletes heavily featured in the series.
January 2025
After Hurts led the Eagles to his NFC Championship on January 26, Burrows was by his side to reap the spoils. The pair were photographed walking hand-in-hand after the team’s victory, which sent Hurts to his second Super Bowl game in four seasons.
February 2025
Burrows joined Hurts on the field inside New Orleans’ Caesars Superdome after the Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 in Super Bowl LIX. The pair embraced after the Eagles big win and shared a sweet kiss.
Prior to the Big Game, Hurts spoke about Burrows during a press conference.
“To Bry, the Mrs., thank you for the support, thank you for the love,” he gushed, according to ESPN’s Sports Center. “And thank you for being the rock that I can lean on.”
April 2025
Hurts revealed he and Burrows had recently gotten married.
“You can call her my wife,” Hurts told Men’s Health.
The couple kept details of their wedding private, but Hurts was seen carrying around a Post-It from his new wife while being interviewed by the publication
“You are exactly where you are supposed to be,” the note read. “I love you. Follow God! I follow you.”

For their first red carpet appearance since getting married, Hurts and Burrows decided to go big by attending the 2025 Met Gala in New York City.
The Philadelphia Eagles quarterback scored in the fashion department by wearing a velvet suit from Burberry with jewelry from Tiffany & Co. His wife complemented the look with a maroon gown adorned with sequined designs and tassels.
The outing came shortly after Hurts skipped the Eagles’ Super Bowl celebration at the White House.
