Wharton joins Crystal Palace on long-term deal

Adam Wharton has joined Crystal Palace from Blackburn in a deal that could be worth up to £22m.

Wharton underwent a medical in London on Wednesday and has penned a long-term deal at Selhurst Park.

Negotiations progressed at the turn of the week with a deal agreed between the two clubs on Tuesday.

Sky Sports News reported last week that Blackburn had rejected an £18m offer from Palace for the midfielder.

Palace announced the signing of right-back Daniel Munoz earlier this week.

Follow the January transfer window

The winter transfer window is open and will close at 11pm in England and 11.30pm in Scotland on Thursday February 1.

To ensure harmonisation with the major leagues in Europe, the closing dates were set following discussions with the EFL, DFL, Serie A, LaLiga, and LFP, who will all close their summer and winter windows on 1 September and 1 February respectively.
