Chris Evans and Alba Baptista are clearly meant to be — and it’s apparent to everyone around them.
“Sometimes you run into people, [and] you’re like, ‘Oh, this wasn’t matchmaking.’ You know what I mean? No one was pulling the string,” Jimmy Warden, who directed the 27-year-old actress in Borderline, told People in an interview published on Saturday, March 15. “It was just like, ‘Oh, these people are exactly right for each other.’”
According to Warden, the twosome makes “such a sweet couple.”
Evans, 43, and Baptista were first linked in 2021, publicly debuting their relationship almost two years later.
“A look back at 2022 ❤️❤️❤️,” the Marvel star wrote via Instagram in January 2023, sharing a video of the pair attempting to scare one another in their home.
Weeks later, a source exclusively told Us Weekly that Evans was “serious” about Baptista.
“This is the most committed anyone can remember him being in a very long time, if not ever,” the insider told Us, noting they were enjoying the “quiet life” together in Evans’ native Massachusetts.

Their life together also inspired Evans to slow down in his career.
“I haven’t worked all year and I don’t plan to, which has been lovely,” he told GQ in a September 2023 profile. “My girlfriend that I’ve had for a while, when we began dating, I was like: ‘Yeah, I do one movie a year. I try to never work now.’ And then, after, like, a few months of dating, boom, guess what? We’re living in Atlanta for a year [for filming]. Get ready. And even when that year was happening, I was like, man, never again.”

That same month, Us confirmed that Evans and Baptista tied the knot in Cape Cod without ever formally announcing an engagement.
“I got married. It was really, really great. We kinda had two ceremonies,” Evans said during a panel at New York Comic Con in October 2023. “We had one on the East Coast. We did one in Portugal. My wife’s Portuguese.”
He added, “They were wonderful and beautiful. It’s a lot planning a wedding. For those of you who are married, it takes a lot out of you. Now that we’re through that, we’ve just kinda been enjoying life, gearing up for autumn, my favorite season. It’s, like, the best time of year right now. Now we’re just relaxing and enjoying life and reflecting.”
